Getting started with Quite A Box Of Tricks (Windows)

1. Make sure you have what you need

You should have a disk or folder containing Quite A Box Of Tricks
for Windows, and unless you only want to run a demonstration,
you should have a your personal serial number and private code.
You should be running Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT 4.0 (or later).
You should have installed the full commercial Acrobat 3.0 or 4.0
package. Make sure Acrobat is not running.

2. Find the plug-ins folder

Starting with your My Computer icon, locate the folder
containing Acrobat Exchange plug-ins. If you haven't changed
the default it will be c:\acrobat3\exchange\plug_ins for Acrobat
3.0, or c:\program files\adobe\acrobat 4.0\acrobat\plug_ins for
Acrobat 4.0.

3. Copy the plug-in and guide

Open the folder containing Quite A Box Of Tricks. On the original
Quite CDROM this is English\Products\Quite A Box Of Tricks.
Drag the two QBOX32 files (these may both appear to be
called qbox32, or they may show up as qbox32.api and
qbox32.pdf) from the disk into the plug-ins folder.
Note: you must drag these two files...do not drag the whole
folder.

4. Start Acrobat (Exchange)

If all is well, you will now have a new menu item Plug-ins >
Quite A Box Of Tricks. Run this and, unless you are already a
licensed user, you will see a screen About Quite A Box Of Tricks.
If you have a license code, click Licensing to enter it now.
Click Run Demo to proceed, or Guide to start reading the online guide.

If you want to stop using the plug-in simply remove the two
QBOX32 files you copied above. If you are not using any other
Quite Software plug-ins you can also remove the folder Quite
which will have been created in your plug-ins folder.
